A Legacy of Giving
Established in 1998, the Jetha Devi Charitable Trust was founded by the late Jethanand Tulsidas and his children following the passing of his wife, Sundri Devi. Motivated by a noble desire to serve society, the trust received a valuable property along with accumulated charitable funds. Since its inception, the Trust has actively engaged in uplifting the lives of individuals and communities.
The Trust provides financial aid for education expenses to underprivileged families, supports staff members with SC & HSC fees and sponsors medical procedures for both staff and the public, especially during prolonged hospital waiting times or for medical care abroad. Additionally, it assists staff members with creche fees and contributes to various places of worship during festivities.

SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE
In collaboration with the Central Electrical Board, we recently launched a significant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to address environmental challenges in our community. Our pioneering photovoltaic project is part of the Mauritius Solar Development and Green Initiative (MSDG) and aims to promote renewable energy sources and curb carbon emissions by fostering the widespread adoption of solar power.
This initiative aligns with our commitment to corporate sustainability and supports the government’s vision for a greener Mauritius. Our solar panel system, consisting of 61 photovoltaic modules, has generated an average of 45,529 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy within the span of a year. On a monthly basis, our solar production typically ranges between 3,200 kWh and 4,600 kWh.

DONATION OF THERMOMETERS
Amidst the challenges brought about by the pandemic, our Group remained steadfast in upholding its social responsibilities. To support essential prevention efforts, we donated a substantial number of digital thermometers to 99 NGOs, Lions Club, special-aid schools and other social responsibility institutions.
At Jetha Tulsidas, altruism is ingrained in our ethos. We have been taught from our elders to extend a helping hand to those in need. This ethos permeates our family and corporate culture, with management actively instilling these values in Jetha Tulsidas employees. We take pride in our teams’ responsiveness to community needs.

GLOBAL RAINBOW FOUNDATION
Jetha Tulsidas and our team actively participated as co-sponsors in a charitable event organised under the aegis of the Global Rainbow Foundation. The event was hosted on 19 and 20 September 2020 at Flacq Retail Park, home to our store serving the East of Mauritius.
This two-day event was dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals with disabilities, encompassing both children and adults. Our goal was to create an enjoyable, fun and fulfilling experience, fostering a sense of belonging and dignity within the disabled community. By providing them with memorable moments and opportunities for self-expression, we aimed to instil a positive mindset and drive their motivation to further personal growth. Our team’s dedicated efforts to support this cause were immensely rewarding and underscored out commitment to inclusive initiatives.

GREEN INITIATIVE
The stainless steel bottle embodies our commitment to fostering a greener Mauritius and encouraging sustainable choices in everyday life. We have distributed over 10,000 bottles to our customers, each of them with a motivational quote aimed at inspiring mindful consumption and reducing plastic waste.
